The Heart of the City Music & Arts Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of music and arts, driven by dedicated volunteers, from community members to industry professionals, who believe in uplifting local talent.
For over 20 years, our festival has provided a stage for emerging artists from Edmonton’s inner city, amplifying their voices and fostering a welcoming space for creative expression. Together, we’re building a vibrant cultural community where music, poetry, and performance bring people together.

When and where is the festival?
The festival usually takes place on the first weekend of June at Giovanni Caboto Park, 9425 109A Ave NW.

Is the festival free to attend?
Yes, all performances and activities are free and open to everyone.

Is the festival accessible?
Yes. The park has accessible washrooms and seating areas. If you have specific accessibility needs, feel free to contact us in advance at hello@heartcityfest.com.

Is the festival family-friendly?
Absolutely. We offer free kids’ activities, art workshops, and performances that are fun for all ages.

Will there be food available?
Yes! Local food vendors will be on site, and you're welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Enjoy a picnic in the park!

Can I bring my pet?
As per City of Edmonton bylaws, dogs are prohibited from entering specific areas such as playgrounds and sports fields, including those within Giovanni Caboto Park. Violations may result in a $100 fine. However, service animals are always permitted.

What happens if it rains?
The festival goes ahead rain or shine. Please dress for the weather. Some activities may be delayed or moved under tents.

Is there parking?
There is limited parking nearby. We encourage walking, biking, or taking transit.

Are donations accepted?
Yes. As a volunteer-run non-profit festival, we appreciate any support. Donation boxes will be on site, or you can email us at hello@heartcityfest.com for more information.
