MUSIC 2022

Heart of the City Festival Society of Edmonton acknowledges that each and everyone of us in

Edmonton are living on Treaty 6 Territory, also identified as Métis Region 4. This place we call

Edmonton has been a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree,

Saulteaux (So-toe), Blackfoot, Métis, Dene(De-nay) and Nakota Sioux (Sue), who have marked

these lands for centuries. This land has shaped the communities we are apart of today, and our

connection with nature is known to be a valuable tool for inspiring artistic expression. The efforts we

make to honor this understanding is an important act of Reconciliation in Canada.
